Waggin’s West Dog Training and Behavior Consulting, LLC offers you lots of options:
All training or behavior modification planning starts with an in-home consultation to take a behavioral assessment, determine your pet’s needs and define the parameters of your training or behavioral challenge. We'll discuss your goals and time frame and then set a schedule to complete your dogs' training in weekly or biweekly sessions. After we meet, I'll use that information to develop an individualized training and/or behavioral modification plan designed to meet those challenges. You'll be armed with the information you need, and we'll work together to make the changes you seek.
All training and behavioral consultations include phone calls and email followup at no charge!
Training packages:
Packages are available to fit your schedule. Since behavioral research shows that breaking an old habit or establishing a new one takes a minimum of 6-8 weeks, a discount is offered for training packages of 6 or more sessions, to encourage your long-term practice and produce the best results.
Single Session Training:
If your training time is limited, or you just need to work on one challenging behavior, (such as proper loose leash walking, discouraging your dog from jumping up on children or visitors, or teaching your dog a relaible "Come!"), a single 2-hour training session might be all you need.
Day-training packages: If you've NO time to trainyour dog, a six week, day-training package may suit your needs. Packages consist of two-three training hour long sessions a week, at your home, and follow-up lessons with you, to transition the cues your dog has learned.
Phone consultations are available by appointment, in hour-long sessions.
Kinder-Puppy/New Dog 101:
New dog owners have lots of questions! What’s the best way to potty train a new puppy or re-housetrain a new adopted dog? How do I discourage chewing? What about crate training? How do I set up my new dog’s environment for success? Call to schedule a six week program that includes all the basics!
Private Group Lessons:
Would your neighbors, Scout Troop, church or club group enjoy working on dog training together? Call for available times and special group pricing.
Board and Train: Going out of town.. or just no time to train? Most kennels that offer Board and Train put your dog in a concrete kennel run, and offer a single session with the trainer, for a half-hour a day. The trainer then has one follow-up session with you when the dog is picked up.
Waggin’s West accepts only one Board and Train client at a time to insure the maximum personal attention to your pets' needs. I work with your dog in three half-hour segments per day, (so we get a lot of repetition ) and your dog has some fun: not parked in a cold kennel run, but at my home with my dogs, and going out and about with me. I'll work with you prior to boarding, to determine what your goals are, and design a training plan to meet those goals. Pick up and delivery of your pet is available, and follow-up sessions with you are included to transition your pet back to his home environment. Two to three week slots are available, on a reserved basis. In-home potty training is available, too!
Presentations: Dog training and behavior is very much in the news and on TV. With breed-specific legislation, news coverage of aggressive dogs and animal abuse garnering public attention, it’s important to address these issues related to personal safety through education. Seminars and group presentations are available on Child/Dog Safety, Introducing your Dog to your New Baby, Blending your Pack: Dogs and Cats Together. Call for available scheduling and pricing.
Pet sitting: Pet sitting is also available by reservation, one week in advance. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations, and medical records supplied.
